I have had so much on my mind lately. For those who don't know, my dad was recently diagnosed with bone marrow cancer. This man has been through so much. He had a back surgery in September, a 5 way bypass open heart surgery in December, and another back surgery in February. It wasn't until the results of a biopsy were received from his last back surgery that they found out what the biggest problem is, Myeloma. The doctors aren't sure if his heart was coincidentally needing attention during this same time or if it was all part of the cancer, but they are thinking it all is related to the cancer.
He has already fought another type of cancer in 2003. The thought of him going through this again seems really unfair. Unfair for several reasons, but mostly because he is the kindest, most righteous man I know. He was diagnosed with this at the beginning of March and has been through so much. The cancer was already a stage 3/3 so it was really taking a toll on his body. His bones are so fragile and he once again has a broken back. A surgery that they won't perform right now. He was in the hospital for 5 days struggling with pneumonia, and we are very lucky he survived because cancer hides the symptoms of sickness, and we had no idea he was so sick. He is home now, and doing much better.
He is getting his chemo 6 times a month and is such a trooper. We've had many prayers answered along the way and although he has a ways to go, we are so blessed for all he has overcome. We LOVE you dad!
