Today I was upstairs scrapbooking when our little Clifford came upstairs. He had snuck through the gate downstairs and came up to find me. I didn't think much of it so I put him back away and got back to scrapbooking. About an hour later I went downstairs and reached my hand in a bag that was supposed to be half full of Cadbury mini eggs and well....... there was not one little crumb. Then I realized that he had eaten the rest of the bag before he came up to find me. I felt so bad for not checking sooner. I called our Vet's after hours emergency number and they said to give him a tablespoon of Hydrogen Peroxide to make him throw up. I did and soon he threw up piles of chocolate. Some of the mini eggs had not even been chewed up at all. I was shocked at how much chocolate came out of an 11 pound doggie. I felt so bad that he had to go through all this just because I wasn't more careful. The vet said if he didn't throw up that we would have to bring him down to the clinic to get a shot to induce vomiting. Chocolate causes liver and heart problems in dogs if they don't throw it up within 2 hours. I am so glad he threw up!! He seems to be just fine. We were scared for a while though. We love you little Clifford.

OOOh, poor little thang! Glad you caught it and knew what to do! My boys would be upset if Clifford wasn't at your house anymore!
That's so sad! You are going to be a good little mom though! Look you already konw what to do if they eat to much chocolate...make them throw up! J/K! I didn't know choc. is bad for dogs...see how much I know!
So sad, but this post makes me feel so much better! Steve and I just got a little puppy (I need to blog about it). Anyway, the first night we had him - he found some rat poison! Yes, we had to make him throw up and everything. I still feel terrible about it..just glad that he survived!
yeah i would love to barrow those books. i got one called "Chain Reaction". i bought it at the assembly.
It's the 2nd or 3rd one i think.
